Patrick Schaefer is a widely recognized expert in international trade, investment, and national security law and policy, with over twenty years of experience in government, academia, and the private sector.
Patrick specializes in the legal and economic analysis of transnational commercial, financial, and criminal enterprise flows in North and South America and European and Asian markets He regularly provides briefings, trainings, and seminars nationally and internationally for organizations such as the Department of Homeland Security, Joint Task Force-North, the Aspen Institute, Aspen Institute-Mexico, Aspen Institute-Italia, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Pacific Council on International Policy, the Texas Lyceum, the New Mexico State Legislature, among many other diverse local, state, and international institutions.
Currently, Patrick serves as an Assistant District Attorney in the First Judicial District of New Mexico where he prosecutes felony crimes, having previously served in the same capacity in the Third Judicial District in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on the US-Mexico border.
