New Mexico
enacted the End-of-Life Options Acts (EOLOA) in 2021 to authorize the
practice of medical aid in dying (MAID). The legislature amended this act
in the 2023 session. We will discuss the basics of MAID, implementation
of the Act thus far, and the new amendments to the law. Panelists will
also discuss key issues for elders when considering end of life options, and
current trends in expanding these options.
